This normally means that DIP switch #3 on the back of the E-30 is set to the OFF position, which places it in programming mode.
(in this mode, the phone calls the Viking Assisted Programming Line so we can help customers configure them)
DIP switch #3 should be set to the ON position for normal operation.
If DIP switch #3 is set to ON and the E-30 behaves this way (calls Viking), the DIP switch is probably faulty.
( try moving it on-off several times and see if that helps )
NOTE: newer units have a counter set to 3. If the entry phone has at least one number programmed, after 3 calls to the Programming line, it will revert to dialing the number(s) programmed by the user - regardless of DIP switch 3 position. OLDER phones do NOT have this counter and will continue to call Viking.
